miscellany monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

For awhile now, one of my favorite parts about Mondays is when my friends do a Miscellany Monday post on their blogs. So, I am giving in. Head over to Carissa's blog, the author/host of miscillany monday, here

1. Watermelon.
i. can't. stop. eating. it. i just paused after those words to take a bite. i've discovered that a whole watermelon is cheaper than a half, pre-cut watermelon. why pay more?! so since saturday i have officially eaten almost an entire watermelon by myself. don't judge. its water.

2. 4-hour work days
love them. they don't come around too often. i went in to work at 7am, and am now sitting at the kitchen table eating watermelon and blogging. you feel like you get to work, get report on your patients, and you look at your watch, and it's time to go home. love it. i'm trying not to think that this treat of a day means an 8 hour class tomorrow...

3. Summer is fading
it is gradually getting darker and darker when i leave for work in the morning. i hate leaving when its still dark. on top of that, high schools start back next week! crazy! that means some football games and contact work. bring it on :) i'm pumped to see how the Lord is going to move at TC this year.

4. New lens
after reading a LOT of reviews, and doing a lot of comparisons, i ordered my new camera lens. i've been keeping my eyes out for 2 lenses. a wide-angle lens & a lens with a zoom. i found a combo of the 2! an 18-250 mm wide angle! perfect. and it is cheaper than each seperately, with some great reviews.

5. Baghdad Ky
yes. it's that time of year again. planning weekend in baghdad. i love my team, and i love my friends, and i love hanging out. i do not like baghdad. bugs are everywhere and ky is humid in august. but am i excited? YES. like i said, i love my team, and friends, and hanging out. bring those gross cabins and that infected swimming pool on. i'm ready.

6. Salt
jon weece talked at 608 last night about promises of Jesus. he talked briefly about us being the salt of the earth. you know, preservative, flavor, purifying qualities...but threw in one i haven't heard. salt is not meant to be enjoyed in itself. it is meant to be poured out for the glory of something greater.

7. Giving in: iphone
so that upgrade that wasn't until the fall/winter? it's today. treat. i am going to join the rest of my at&t family [now including katie and kyle], and get an iphone. not the new one. i figure any kind of upgrade will make me excited, so i may as well get the older, cheaper version. i'm pumped.

8. Red Lobster
i love red lobster. i don't care how trashy it can be. i love crab legs. and tonight? well, i am joining my friends that share in my love, and we are eating some crab before bible study tonight. i can't wait.

9. Ireland
so scott [my brother] moved to ireland a month ago, and until yesterday i have not heard from him. but i saw a 000 area code from an unknown contact and got SO excited. it was him! he loves it. i hate love that he loves it. on another Ireland note, i watched leap year on Saturday. cute movie, but it makes you want to go there. i'll just have to pay the brother a visit one day.

10. Farmers Market & photo adventure
on saturday morning, i went to the farmers market downtown for the first time. wow have i been missing out! its wonderful down there! i brought my camera and took some shots to share. afterwards, jen jen drove me around to point out all the places she wants me to take pictures. loved all of them. i snuck some of her walking on some railroad tracks we found. to see the rest of the pictures from the day, click on the pictures link on the right hand side of my blog :)

Happy Monday!
