I picked up Redeeming Love today. I am already sucked in. The Lord's patience with us and love for us is overwhelming, and I love that Francine Rivers is so gifted at putting it into such a captivating story. If I am going to get sucked into a book, I want to be reminded of the Lord and all that I have in Him.
Today was a great day. I asked God to show up (or to allow me to notice, because He always shows up) and He absolutely proved for the millionth time, "Ask and you shall receive". I don't know why I am ever surprised. I got to hang out with some high school girls today, and it was really great.
I am going to bed now knowing that the next 4 days are going to be spent asleep since I am working the next 3 nights. I am really struggling feeling like my time is a waste. I mean, I can't even go to club for YL, my ministry. I know that God is working despite how I feel. I really just hate feeling like I am just working and sleeping. Today was so great, I can't imagine having slept through it.
Well, I won't be writing again until at least the weekend, so I hope you all have a really wonderful week! This is my last week orienting, I am on my own after 3 more shifts. Exciting and scary :)

Jenna, I love that book!!! I read the whole thing while laying on the beach on our honeymoon and it was so good. :)

You'll be great on your own. Also, don't get discouraged ... this is just a phase and hopefully it will not last forever.
ReplyDeleteOne of my little students found the copy (you gave me?) of Redeeming Love in my classroom. After I found it, I slipped it into the shelf in my room, hoping that a girl would pick it up for fun. Precious little Cassidy (a 10th grader with a wild imagination who loves books) found it on Monday and is already 1/2 through!
